About
The 2026 National Heritage Media Art Cheorwon Workers' Party Headquarters is a nighttime culture and arts event held around the Cheorwon Workers' Party Headquarters and Cheorwon History & Culture Park, sites that carry the history of the Korean War and national division. Using media art, the event reinterprets the historical value and sense of place of this heritage site, under the theme 'Peace Emergency: From Memory to Empathy, Beyond Healing to the Future.' It expresses memories of the past through light and video, delivering messages of peace and healing. The program includes a media façade projected on the outer walls of the building, interactive media, AR experiences, light installations, AI media art, citizen-participation content, and performances. A highlight is 'Pro PACE: For Peace' by world-renowned media artist Yann Nguema, adapted specifically to the history and character of this site, along with programs that express Cheorwon's history, literature, and local stories through media art and performance. The event is closed every Tuesday and on September 25 (Chuseok holiday), and offers docent-guided tours with cultural interpreters, special performances, and hands-on programs.
