National Heritage Media Art Yeosu Jinnamgwan Festival

2026 Heritage Media Art Yeosu is a nighttime cultural event that presents Yeosu's national heritage and the stories of Admiral Yi Sun-sin and the Left Jeolla Naval Command through media art. Under the theme "Jinnamgwan, Rebuilt in Light," it runs from October 9 to November 8, 2026, around Jinnamgwan Hall, Gosodae, and Yi Sun-sin Square. Drawing on the historical background and spatial character of these key sites, it expresses the War Diary (Nanjung Ilgi), Yi Sun-sin's compassion for the people, and the voyage of the turtle ship through light and video. The media art display features Jinnamgwan's architecture, the memorial stele pavilion and protected tree at Gosodae, and the turtle ship at Yi Sun-sin Square. Programs connecting viewing with hands-on experience include an AI metahuman Yi Sun-sin, interactive content using visitors' own photos, and a stamp tour. The stamp tour takes visitors to Jinnamgwan, Tarubi Monument, and the turtle ship, and on weekends during the event there will also be hands-on programs and a flea market.
