About
Now in its 7th year, the Yangpyeong Leek Festival celebrates the premium leeks grown in Yangdong-myeon, Yangpyeong's top leek-producing area, along with the county's other fine farm products. It's a resident-led festival built together by local schools, farming families, and neighbors. The 2026 edition, themed "Buchu-Da Yangpyeong Leek Festival" (meaning lots of flavor, fun, and happiness), brings together Korea's finest Yangdong leeks, fresh produce grown with care by local farmers, varied food stalls, and hands-on programs all in one place. The festival's signature dish, "Buchu-Da leek rice soup," headlines a lineup of leek-based treats including leek rice cakes, leek noodles, and leek makgeolli. Visitors can also try planting leeks in pots, trimming leeks, and other hands-on activities to see and touch Yangdong leeks firsthand, plus a range of games for the whole family — making it a great outing for families with kids.
