About
The 47th Soyanggang Cultural Festival is a local culture festival aimed at discovering and passing on Chuncheon's unique traditions while giving citizens a place to come together and enjoy themselves. It takes place October 17-18, 2026, around Chuncheon City Hall Plaza, showcasing traditions passed down in Chuncheon such as Yongsin-gut (dragon god ritual) and the Udubeol Daedong Cheonryeom fishing festivity. The festival features a street parade with citizens, performances by a culture school, stages for teens and children to perform, invited guest performances, and folk art troupe shows. There are also hands-on programs anyone can join, including random dance, folk games, rice cake pounding, and craft-making activities. With a mix of performances and hands-on experiences, it's designed so people of every generation can experience and share the region's traditional culture together.
