About
The Imsil N Cheese Festival is Korea's leading cheese festival, celebrating the history and spirit of perseverance behind Korea's first cheese, created in 1967 by Father Ji Jeong-hwan (Didier t'Serstevens), a Belgian priest who started with just two goats and pushed through countless trials and hardships. Through a variety of hands-on and tourism programs centered on the "Imsil N Cheese" brand, the festival offers a special experience for visitors from Korea and abroad while raising the profile of Imsil cheese as Korea's leading cheese brand. Highlights include the large-scale hands-on activity "Stretch My Cheese," where visitors stretch and share cheese together, along with eye- and ear-catching exhibitions, exciting competitions, and delicious food programs that fill your mouth with happiness — all making for a festival that delights every sense. What's more, this isn't just a festival for welcoming tourists — it's created together by local residents working as one, giving this cheese festival an even deeper meaning and a real sense of togetherness.
