Busan Seogu Ryo Tourism Festival

The 5th Busan Seo-gu Medical Tourism Festival will be held on October 16–17 at Songdo Ocean Park, jointly organized by Seo-gu district along with Pusan National University Hospital, Dong-A University Hospital, Kosin University Gospel Hospital, and Sahmyook Busan Hospital. The festival aims to raise awareness of Seo-gu as the first 'medical tourism special zone' in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, lay the groundwork for attracting foreign patients through business consultations and buyer familiarization tours, and offer residents and tourists accurate health information along with hands-on medical experiences. This year, around 60 booths will host health consultations, exhibitions, promotions, and experience programs. Participating hospitals, public health centers, and the National Health Insurance Service will offer visitors physical exams, stress diagnostics, traditional Korean medicine acupuncture treatments, and medication counseling, among other health services and information. Together with Busan Techno Park, a 'Medical & Healthcare Industry Exhibition Hall' will showcase Seo-gu's key medical projects — its Medical R&D Knowledge Industry Center, incubators, local specialty industries, and medical verification programs — along with healthcare devices from participating innovative companies. On-site wellness programs include slow jogging, silent meditation yoga, CrossFit, and jumping fitness for all ages, plus a 'Kids Doctor Experience Zone,' air sports, and other family-friendly booths, making for plenty to see and do. Side events include a 'Health Talk Concert' with a plastic surgeon from Kosin University Gospel Hospital, a children's magic and balloon show, and large-scale board games. The opening ceremony is set for 3 p.m. on October 16, with a celebratory stage featuring Ahn Seong-hun (winner of Mr. Trot 2), the Korean traditional b-boy group Last Street Crew, and pop flutist Seo Ga-bi.
